About the Book
(From the
book's Introduction)
Has the ever been a time when you were sitting at your
computer at home or at work and a forwarded e-mail that you received
seemed to speak to your personally? Or an e-mail may have come
that brought a smile to your face or brightened your day. I can't
begin to tell you how many times this has happened to me. There
have been many times when an e-mail has touched my life in a positive
way. There have been times when I went through something or needed
a little pick me up, and an e-mail was there to give me exactly what I
needed at that moment whether it was subtle, comforting advice,
inspiration, or a good laugh. If you've received an e-mail like
this, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.
As I started
receiving more and more of these e-mails that had probably been
forwarded to thousands of other, I noticed a recurring theme among most
of the ones I received. The e-mails were either about women or for
women. They were informative, inspiring, and entertaining.
Each one celebrated women in its own special way, and they were
forwarded to me by the women in my life - sisters, nieces, friends,
cousins, and female co-worker. There were some I received multiple
times, and there were some that I only received once.
I started saving those e-mails a few years ago. I would often go back
and reread certain ones. As I watched my collection of e-mails
grow, my mind started thinking how nice it would be to have a book
filled with the e-mails I had collected because every one of them were
meaningful in their own way. The more I thought about it, the
vision became clear in my mind. It has been a lifelong dream of
mine to publish a book even though I don't consider myself to be writer.
Plus, I have a deep desire to help others. I am especially
interested in issues and problems that affect women. Therefore, I feel
that creating Fe-mails has been the perfect job for me. My dream
is that this book concept would help afford me the opportunity of
fulfilling both my goals of publishing a book and helping others.
While I was awaiting the birth of my second child, I also gave birth
to my longtime dream.
I have placed each fe-mail into one of five categories. Each
category is a chapter. The six categories/chapters are as follows:
Inspirational Fe-mails, Funny Fe-mails Mommy Fe-mails, Friendship
Fe-mails, Diva Fe-mails and This-n-That Fe-mails. In addition to the six
chapters of Fe-mails, I have also included appendices of popular e-mail
& chat acronyms and great websites for women.
